I know this isn’t a video filled with huge dunks, or crafty passes. It’s not two minutes of LeBron James, or Kobe Bryant. What it is is actually more special than all of the aforementioned things. This is two s0lid minutes of NBA history. This is two minutes, featuring the highlights from two rookies, who both racked-up triple-doubles in the same game. A feat that had never been accomplished in the history of the association.
The game spanned six quarters, and was decided by only one point. The Philadelphia 76ers bested the Orlando Magic 126-125. Victor Oladipo would finish with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 3 steals in the loss. While his counterpart, Michael Carter-Williams, would finish the game with 27 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 3 steals.
These two young guards have very bright futures, whether it be the current two-man race for NBA Rookie of the Year, or whether it be leading their respective teams to the playoffs in a few seasons. This very game is the start to what could be a budding NBA rivalry between two young stars in the making.
