WATCH: Ben Revere hits first career home run after 1,565 plate appearances

  • Jim Racalto

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Ben Revere had gone an astounding 1,565 at-bats without hitting a home run in the majors. Tuesday night, that all changed in the 7th inning against the Colorado Rockies. Check out the video below of Revere’s first career home run.

For what it’s worth, the Major League record is still held by Jack McCarthy, who went 2,470 plate appearances with a homer from 1901 to 1907.
