Watch: Blind, deaf soccer fan ‘watches’ Brazil play thanks to friends

  • Marcus Burnan

This is perhaps one of the best videos you will ever watch.  It tells the story of a man called Carlos who is blind and deaf.  Carlos is from Brazil who are currently hosting the soccer World Cup – an honor Brazil has waited since 1950 to do.

His disability would normally mean he couldn’t take part in the celebrations of his soccer-mad country hosting the greatest sporting spectacle in the world.

Thanks to the patience of his friends, Carlos was able to enjoy his countries 3-1 win over Croatia in the opening game of the World Cup.  His friends built a custom pitch and a vuvuzela  to blow into his back when Brazil scored.

Brazil won the game against Croatia 3-1 with Neymar Jr. netting twice.  Brazil next play Mexico on June 17th in Fortaleza.
