WATCH: Central Michigan pulls off miracle play 75-yard play as time expires

  • David Whitlock

For everyone that tuned out the inaugural Popeyes Bahamas Bowl at halftime (with the score 42-14 in favor of Western Kentucky), shame on you.  The Central Michigan Chippewas came storming back, but were apparently going to come up short 49-42 after getting the ball back with just 1 second on their own 25-yard line.  So on Christmas Eve, they invoked Mary, Hailed the ball, pitched it a few times, and scored the TD to cap off a 5-TD fourth quarter and pull within an extra point for a tie… (via YouTube/cjzerovids)

…But instead of going for one, they hoped to capitalize on the shock value (and playing with house money) and went for two.  With a low percentage fade route that fell incomplete.  Final score, Western Kentucky 49, Central Michigan 48.  There will never be a better Bahamas Bowl finish if its played another 100 years.
