There were quite a few surprises last night at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany as UConn defeated Michigan State to open up the college basketball season at the inaugural Armed Forces Classic, but sophomore forward DeAndre Daniels throwing down on Derrick Nix, the Spartans’ starting center, was one of the more exciting ones.
Jeremy Lamb’s dunk against Columbia last year still reigns supreme, but UConn’s upset of Michigan State last night in Kevin Ollie’s coaching debut is probably the most impressive feat of all.
