WATCH: Michael Sam receives ovation at Missouri basketball game
Former Missouri defensive end Michael Sam was in attendance for their basketball game against Tennessee on Saturday, during which the Mizzou football team was being honored for their Cottom Bowl win over Oklahoma State. Sam announced last week that he is gay, and will be the first openly gay player in the NFL after the draft in May.
At one point, Sam was shown on the arena screen, and received a thunderous ovation from the crowd. He responded by blowing a kiss to the student section, then hi-fiving and hugging fans. Take a look at the inspirational video below.
