WATCH: Ryan Dempster purposely hits his son during batting practice

  • Jason Whitney

Ryan Dempster had an interesting moment with his son while pitching him batting practice. Dempster explained that no matter who’s in the batter’s box, they need to know that it’s “his” dish. And Dempster let his young son know this the hard way by plunking the young tike in the leg following a hit up the middle.

After winning the World Series last season, Dempster stated he will not pitch in 2014 for the Boston Red Sox. Dempster said at this point it’s in his best interest to take the year off. This may not be great news for Ryan’s son however, as he probably can count on a few more plunkings from dad with the extra time off.
