When you are the severe underdog in a football game, it is essential that you pull out all of the stops, and leave no stone unturned in order to have a chance to pull the upset. When an underdog Sun-Belt member Louisiana-Monroe upset the Auburn Tigers last week, you would think this would have put Auburn’s fellow SEC member Kentucky on upset alert with another Sun Belt member, Western Kentucky on the schedule for the following week. Or not, as Western Kentucky defeated neighbor Kentucky 32-31 in overtime.
However, the real story here is how the game ended, with Western Kentucky drawing up a genius play for a two-point conversion to win the game. The play starts as a screen, but ends up with the receiver throwing the ball back across the field to the quarterback, who has an empty field ahead of him to the end-zone, and the victory.
