Hurting for some NBA action? I know I am. Well, this offseason was one for the ages for the Brooklyn Nets as they spent it wheeling and dealing to re-sign the likes of Kris Humphries, Brook Lopez, Gerald Wallace, and Deron Williams, but also did a sign and trade to receive Joe Johnson and Reggie Evans as well as sign Mirza Teletovic, CJ Watson, and Jerry Stackhouse. *whew* That was a mouthful.
With all of the moves that were done to start the new movement to Brooklyn, I still predict them to have a 45-37 record next year, which would be good for 6th place in the Eastern Conference. Before you start attacking me, look on the bright side. The Brooklyn Nets had a diminished and porous roster last year. Also, Deron Williams, Gerald Wallace, and Brook Lopez have yet to play one single game together.
What’s better is that the Nets should be the most improved team in the league next year. Baby steps though, right? With this team handicapped by their salary for years to come, the product that they will put on the court next year will likely be the unit you see for the foreseeable future. Much better than the futility of the last couple of years. Cheer up though. From one Brooklynite to another: I feel your pain, but there is pretty of optimism going around. When the Nets are involved, 45 wins is something to be extremely happy about.
