Updating Your Sports Complex 0

Schools and community organizations that run sports complexes are always looking for ways to make their facilities more attractive. When a budget is tight, there are only certain types of upgrades that can be made to any sports complex. Instead of putting money into areas that will not reap many returns, it is better to focus on the areas that will attract more spectators and teams to your facility.

New Scoreboards

There was a time when older scoreboards were simply refurbished for cost reasons, and because spectators preferred the older boards. But these days, digital scoreboards are being installed into facilities all over the country, and they are not as expensive as you may think. With the drop in cost of LED technology, you can get a modern scoreboard that will bring character to your facility and attract new fans.

New Locker Rooms

It was not that long ago that sports facilities put little effort into creating comfortable and functional locker rooms for both the home and away teams. But in the last few years, there has been a strong focus on state-of-the-art locker rooms that offer all of the amenities an athlete needs to avoid injury. While you don’t have to install every modern locker room gadget, you can put some funds into creating a locker room that will make athletes want to play in your facility.

New Playing Surface

If your grass or turf playing surface is more than ten years old, then it is time to consider an upgrade. There are new materials available that are easier for athletes to play on, easier to maintain, and easier to install. A new playing surface would help to cut down on athlete injuries, and it would help your facility to be considered for more of the lucrative tournaments that come to your area.

A Public Address System

There are many sports complexes in this country that do not have public address systems, and that means they are missing out on a lot of opportunities. A PA would allow you to sell advertising time during games, play music to entertain the audience, and make game announcements like a professional sports complex. A good PA is not that expensive, and it can pay for itself within a year if it is used properly.

People enjoy going to modern sports complexes to compete and watch games. For a relatively small investment, you can turn your aging facility into a state-of-the-art place for people to enjoy sports of all kinds.
